Fares and Points of Service

Free for children 5 (five) years old and younger accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Maximum of 3 (three) children per adult.

User Categories

Basic: Regular user with no fare reductions granted (based on user category).

Student: Students under 21 years of age are eligible for reduced fares. Your student status must be renewed every September. Proof of age (under 21 years of age on September 1 of the year of issue) and proof of full-time school registration is required.

Seniors: Seniors 65 years old and above are eligible for reduced fares.  Proof of age is required.

Service Types

Intra: Provides access to Transcollines services located within the administrative boundaries of one MRC. Users with “Intra” fares will not be allowed to board or get off Transcollines vehicles within Gatineau city limits.

Regular: Provides access to the territory of one MRC and one neighbouring MRC.

Inter: Provides access to the entire public transit network operated by Transcollines from the MRC Pontiac to Gatineau city and vice-versa.

Combined: Provides access to the entire Transcollines public transit network operated by Transcollines as well as the STO and OC Transpo systems.

Fare Media

Single ride: Valid for a single one-way trip, from boarding to arrival at destination.  Fares and fare media must be paid in full (cash only) when boarding.

Monthly pass: Valid for one month of unlimited rides.

Rules governing refunds of transit passe

Requests for refunds of transit passes issued by Transcollines are governed by specific rules.

Provisions governing the refund of transit passes

Transit passes cannot be refunded or transferred to another person. Nevertheless, an exception may be granted to refund a pass on specific grounds when the prescribed deadlines are met and for the reasons set out below. The value of the refund must be $10 or more (after the deduction of a $5 administration) and cover a period not exceeding 6 months.

Purchase before the pass becomes valid

Riders who have purchased a monthly pass and request a refund before the 1st day that the pass becomes valid.

Death of the card holder *

Eligible parties may request a refund for any transit pass loaded on the smart card upon the death of the card holder. To process the request, Transcollines requires the necessary supporting documents (declaration of death).

Stopped work (loss of employment or illness) *

Riders who have lost their employment or are on medical leave for more than one month. To process the request, Transcollines requires the necessary supporting documents (record of employment or medical certificate).

Maternity, paternity or parental leave *

Riders who are on maternity, paternity or parental leave for a period exceeding one month and who request a refund once their leave has started. To process the request, Transcollines requires the necessary supporting documents (record of employment).

*A $5 administration fee applies in all cases and will be deducted from the refund amount.

Pass price – (cost of one trip paid x the number of trips taken) – administration fee ($5)

Provisions governing the replacement of smart cards

Smart cards may be replaced under the following circumstances:

Lost, stolen or damaged smart card

Riders must go to a service point to have the card and any contents replaced. A fee of $10 is applies.

Defective smart card

Riders must go to a service point to have the card and any contents replaced for free.

Responsibility for the policy

The Transcollines office clerk is responsible for the application of this policy.

Responsibility for the policy for Collines and Pontiac combined pass

The STO is responsible for processing reimbursement requests for “Combined” passes.

Local service centre

The Transcollines Service Centre is located at 5, Principale Ouest in the Sainte-Cécile-de-Masham sector of the municipality of La Pêche.  The office is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed from noon to 1:00 PM). Transcollines users can obtain a smart card (please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time), buy, load, or reload their smart card subscription, reactivate a lost, stolen or defective smart card; and receive information on Transcollines services, fares and special offers. No online reloading of any Transcollines fares will be available.

STO service points and issuing centres

Users can obtain their Transcollines smart card at the service points De la Cité, Galeries Aylmer, Village Place Cartier and STO (111, rue Jean-Proulx).

Users can purchase any Transcollines fare payments in every service points, at the issuing center and any recharging point. Before going to one of our service points in order to purchase a new Transcollines monthly pass, it is the user’s responsibility to take note of the various fare categories available and, when purchasing, to make sure to specify which service types he wishes to purchase according to his travel needs.
