Paratransit

What Is Paratransit?

Paratransit service is door-to-door public transportation for handicapped individuals who are unable to use regular public transit.  For more information, please consult our Rules of Usage which include a section on paratransit.

Transit requests must be made at no later than noon on the working day preceding the service.

Serviced Territory

This service is provided by Transcollines for the territory of the seven (7) municipalities of the RCM of Les Collines-de-l’Outaouais: Cantley, Chelsea, L’Ange-Gardien, La Pêche, Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, Pontiac and Val-des-Monts.

Admission

To use paratransit, riders must first qualify for the service as defined by the  Paratransit Eligibility Policy (click here) of the Quebec Ministry of Transport.  You must submit and return to us a Paratransit application form. Please note that certain sections of the application must be completed by a health care professional.

Paratransit Fares

Intra: This fare category allows you to travel within the boundaries of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais MRC territory.

Regular: This fare category allows you to make the same trips as the intra fare category. In addition, it allows you to make trips to and from Gatineau, depending on your travel corridor. Beyond the corridor, a surcharge for out-of-territory travel applies.

Combined: This fare category allows you to make the same trips as the regular fare category. In addition, it allows you to make trips from one point in Gatineau to another (Gatineau-Gatineau) by reserving through the STO.

Users reserving trips within their corridor or for travel to the Gatineau, Hull or Buckingham hospitals or to the La RessourSe Rehabilitation Centre will not have to pay a surcharge. However, a $5 surcharge will be required for reservations that involve travel outside of the established corridor. For users holding a regular or combined monthly pass, the costs associated with a daily return trip outside their travel corridor are included.

We ask paratransit users to please save their receipts, which they may be asked to show upon boarding.
